A yoga teacher is a human too. Surprise!

Woke up grumpy and looking like a zombie this morning.  Unfolded my mat and sat down in a cross legged position. Closed my eyes and for about 10 minutes kept opening them. My mind – was not THERE. Where was it? It was in ALL places. I got pissed off, went to the kitchen and made breakfast. After breakfast, start smiling again. Maybe I just needed food this morning. I decided I’ll be practicing in the afternoon.

It’s been a full hard working week, trying to do lots of things and still searching for a way to clone myself. I think I need 1,2, 3 or more other Lavinias to give me a hand with the work load that needs to be done before the end of the summer haha

I’ve been working every day from morning until late evening and just stopped a few minutes before going to bed.

Why do I write all this which doesn’t sound perfect at all?

I write it because part of practicing and teaching yoga is to stay truthful and honest. Yoga is not that perfect and spectacular handstand on Instagram. Yoga is messy, it’s about falling and trying and trying and trying to be a better human with yourself and with others. Nobody cares about your perfect handstand as long as you are mistreating people.

Yoga is about working to be a better version of yourself, better than you were yesterday and all this without judging yourself or wanting to be perfect.

We are all humans and we all have good and bad days, happy days and grumpy days. It’s normal! How can we appreciate happiness if we don’t know what sadness is? As long as we work on it and try to understand ourselves better it’s all that it matters.

Today it’s going to be quite busy as well, but I’m happy! Saturday is the first workshop that Unfold Your Mat organizes and it feels amazing to have the opportunity to share with my students more on this beautiful practice. As if it wasn’t enough how obsessed with anatomy and alignment I was, this woman has contributed to develop my obsession even more 🙂 Merci Stef! You’ll see that on Saturday. See you there!
